“Here I am at CMTE, missing household, and my roomies!”
School is very educational, and it may turn out to be motivational! ( that’s a rip on Camp Granada for those with a less eclectic upbringing).
This past weekend was really great: my mom and I spent 17 hours in the car driving from South Bend to Lancaster, Mass. It was uneventful, except that we were hit in the windshield by a bird in Elkhart. Not sure if the bird made it.
In Lancaster, we stayed with the Lawlers, in a 150 y.o. clapboard house. Just lovely. The library where I’m writing is about to close so here’s an overview: I:
played on a zipline, a trampoline, and in the Atlantic with somebody’s dog.
Had a calf suck on my fingers, played leaf-masks with a four-year old, quilted, ate strawberry rhubarb pie, sang rounds with the family, saw a Screech owl, slept in an attic room, helped pick out a kitten for the family, and had lovely conversations with Sukie, her parents, grandmother, brother, and two younger sisters.
And now I’m in New Rochelle, about to get kicked out of the library!
