Our Claim to Fame
Sunday, April 29th, 2007I know you all might consider our household pretty famous based on the 195,000 views of that picture Jeremy took. However, Trish and I had an encounter with fame this past Saturday morning.
We are both training for the Sunburst 1/2 marathon and were embarking on a 10 mile run. At one point in our run we began to hear lots of sirens and honks. Perplexed at the obnoxious noise behind us, Trish and I prayed for whatever was going on. (It sounded like a traffic jam on the movies or some awful traffic chaos)
Little did we know, the noise got closer and closer. We began to see people parked on the shoulders of Riverside like they were waiting for something. It took us about 5 minutes to realize that behind us was a parade full of police cars, fire engines, limosines, antique cars, and various floats with people waving and honking! Trish and I were actually leading the parade!! Naturally, we waved at all the onlookers and ran along IN THE PARADE!! It was amazing … everyone was cheering for us and so were the people on the floats! What a run!
