Moving Today!

Today, we are moving everything from Chris’ house to the new house on Colfax. Men from the South Bend branch are joining us after work and I’m particularily excited to exprience this move. Despite the 15 inches or so of lake effect snow, we’re ready for anything! Last night, Sean, Chris, Claire, and I were at Chris’ house doing some last-minute organization for the move. David, Elizabeth, and Jeremy were at the new house working and cleaning. Being a part of a People of Praise move is something I have yet to exprience, and by the end of the evening, we’ll have moved our first set of stuff into the new house. PRAISE GOD!!

My first POP move day was the day I realized we would change the world. It was during the last summer. An older couple in the South Bend Branch was moving out of their 2-story house (with a basement) and we had been called to help. By the time we got there, there were already like 15 people working vigorously removing boxes, stacking them outside, while others sorted and packed them into the trucks. We were done in like an hour and half. IT WAS NUTS. I remember moving friends that would notify everyone they knew and four folks would spend a whole day moving someone out of a single apartment. But its simple stuff like showing up to move someone that really display the strength of our friendship. No other groups of folks act like that.

Amen! I’ve moved 4 times under the blesing of community and I can say there is NOTHING like the power we have to serve! Moving in less than 4 or 5 hours for anyone in the world is a BIG deal! Praise God for support!
