Music to our ears…or maybe not!
One thing that Nick forgot to mention about our trip was the lovely, melodic tones that accompanied us as we made our way to and from Chicago. It’s quite true that we all appreciate music in our Household. We love to sing, play the guitar and the recorder, hum, whistle, make trumpet sounds with our lips, and even do a little Tuvan throat singing. But this was no ordinary music I am referring to. This was a sound bursting forth from beneath the front hood of our car! That’s right. And it was honestly a rather unpleasant noise (deafening to some). We were not sure if the car was gonna make it for a while there. We later found out that a bolt on the alternator was making a belt squeak, which was easily repaired, praise God! As some of us said, we were just trying to declare ourselves to the world. All-in-all it was a pretty hilarious experience, being eyed by everyone on the streets, not for a super cool booming base stereo, but for a squeaking car hood!
